The Porter's coffee brewing class is for anyone who is curious about making beautiful coffee at home, or coffee connoisseurs looking to brush up and improve their skills.
When done with care, filter brew methods can produce an excellent cup of coffee with perfect clarity and balanced flavours. We love making and drinking filter coffee, and showing you how easy, fun and satisfying it can be. Whether you’re just starting out, or you want to develop your filter coffee techniques, palette and vocabulary, this class is for you.
What you’ll learn
In this one-hour class, we’ll share the journey of our coffee, the environment it’s grown, how it's harvested and processed before it arrives at our roastery. You will learn how to analyse the information on a bag of beans to pick the type of coffee you’ll love the most. We’ll be spending most of our time brewing and tasting coffees together, using a variety of different techniques, including plunger coffee made with a French press, an Aeropress, and pour-overs.
We’ll talk about how we assess a brew, using accurate flavour descriptors, and how to adjust the recipes to brew your coffee just the way you like it.
What to expect on the day
This fun, hands-on interactive class has a maximum of 6 participants. We’ll dive deep into the process of brewing coffee. We will have plenty of time for questions and discussion on tips and hacks to make coffee brewing simple and easy.
Drink as much coffee as you like during the class.
